BREAKING: Thugs kill police, NYSC member, others in Ekiti Bye-election
Four people have reportedly killed including policewoman in the ongoing Ekiti East House of Assembly Constituency 1 bye-election in Omuo -Ekiti by some political thugs.
It was gathered that the hoodlums stormed the venue of the election and shot sporadically to scare the people in the polling unit away.
Source gathered that the thugs stormed the Iworo polling unit Obadore, Omuo- Ekiti to snatch the ballot box but the security men did not allow them to snatch the ballot box after which the thugs released fire thereby resulting in the killing of one policewoman, NYSC member and two voters.
The Constituency has five Wards with 37 Polling Units. Five political parties include APC, AA, PDP, APGA and YPP will be participating in the bye-election.
The seat became vacant, following the death of Mr. Juwa Adegbuyi, who represented the Constituency in the House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in January.
Ekiti East Constituency one has (5) five Wards, (37) thirty-seven polling units with (23,670) twenty-three thousand, six hundred and seventy registered voters.
