Senator Olubunmi Adetumbi, on Saturday, lost his bid to return to the Senate and was defeated by former House of Representatives member, Cyril Fasuyi.
The lawmaker lost his bid to secure the All Progressives Congress, APC’s ticket to run for the Ekiti Northern Senatorial District of the state.
Results of the primary show Mr Olubunmi Adetumbi polled 85 votes to crash out against Cyril Fasuyi, who scored 111. two aspirants Oluomo Osinkolu scored 47 votes and Hon. Ajibulu scored 13 votes.

- Oluomo Osinkolu—47 Votes
- Hon. Ajibulu—13 Votes
According to the electoral officers led by Hon Segun Dipe, the total number of expected voters was 280 but 270 votes were cast.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) supervised the exercise, which was peaceful, amidst tight security.
NEWSFLASH NIGERIA reports that Mr Olubunmi Adetumbi is a two-term senator.
The former lower lawmaker Fasuyi was backed by the state governor Kayode Fayemi.
