The Presidency on Monday has reacted over unknown gunmen attacked the residence of Ibrahim Gambari, Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Newsflash Nigeria had earlier reported that unknown gunmen suspected to be robbers invaded the residences of two senior aides to President Muhammadu Buhari inside presidential villa.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Monday morning when the robbers stormed the residences of the Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari and Admin Officer, Abubakar Maikano in Presidential Villa, carted away money and other valuable assets from both houses.
Meanwhile, the presidency confirmed the incident.
Presidential Spokesman, Garba Shehu, who confirmed the attack on Monday night on his verified Twitter handle.
Shehu said there was a ‘foolish’ attempt to burgle Gambari’s residence at 3am.
He, however said the attack was unsuccessful.

His tweet read; “ The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful.
“Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident”.
