Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has been involved in an auto crash along the airport road on Monday morning in Abuja, Peoples Gazette reports.
According to the online newspaper, Mr Osinbajo’s security aides and rescuers are trying to pull him from the vehicle. A witness sent in a video from the scene.
It was not immediately clear the severity of the accident on the Nigerian leader.
Osinbajo is one of the 23 presidential aspirants in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the primary election will take place today.
Meanwhile, the presidency has denied that the vice president got an accident along the Abuja airport road.
The presidency posted on its twitter handle, says, Prof Osinbajo was not involved in an accident.
“CLARIFICATION: Vice President @ProfOsinbajo was not involved in an accident.
“On his way to the airport, en route to Owo, Ondo State on a condolence visit, his convoy stopped to assist the lone victim of a car accident.
“Victim has been transported to Airforce Base Hospital”.
