Nigeria on Sunday night, April 26, has recorded another 91 new cases of Covid-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus and five deaths in fifteen states and Abuja, the country capital, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 1273 and 40 deaths.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made the announcement on Sunday night, on its official Twitter account.
The new cases are spread across Lagos, Sokoto, Taraba, Kaduna, Gombe, Ondo, Osun, Kebbi, Edo, Oyo, Ebonyi, Bayelsa, Akwa-Ibom, Rivers and Bauchi states as well as Abuja, the country capital.
The centre also said that five person deaths from Coronavirus-related complications in the country, making the number of fatalities rise to 40.
NCDC said,” On the 26th of April 2020, 91 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria. Till date, 1273 cases have been confirmed, 239 cases have been discharged and 40 deaths have been recorded in Nigeria.
“The 91 new cases are reported from fifteen states and Abuja – Lagos State recorded 43 cases, Sokoto State had 8 cases, Taraba State recorded 6 cases , Kaduna and Gombe States had five cases, Three cases in Ondo, FCT, Edo, Oyo, Rivers and Bauchi States while Osun State had two cases.
Others are Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Kebbi and Ebonyi States had one case each.
As it stands, the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria is 1273, with 239 persons discharged and 40 deaths.
