BREAKING: Nigeria records 553 new cases of Coronavirus, total now 9855
The new cases are spread across Lagos, Delta, Edo, Rivers, Ogun, Kaduna, Kano, Borno, Katsina, Jigawa, Oyo, Yobe, Plateau and Osun States as well as Abuja, the country’s capital.
Nigeria on Saturday night, May 30, has recorded another 553 new cases of COVID-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus and twelve (12) deaths in fourteen (14) states as well as the country’s capital, Abuja, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 9855 and 273 deaths.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made the announcement on Saturday night, on its official Twitter account.
The new cases are spread across Lagos, Delta, Edo, Rivers, Ogun, Kaduna, Kano, Borno, Katsina, Jigawa, Oyo, Yobe, Plateau and Osun States as well as Abuja, the country’s capital.
The centre also said that twelve deaths from Coronavirus-related complications in the country, but the number of fatalities rise to 273.
NCDC also revealed that total numbers of 2,856 patients were discharged.
According to the NCDC, “378 new cases were recorded in Lagos, 52 in the Federal Capital Territory, 23 in Delta, 22 in Edo, 14 in Rivers, 13 in Ogun, 12 in Kaduna.
It also revealed that nine cases recorded in Kano, Seven in Borno, six in Kastina, five each cases were recorded in Jigawa and Oyo States, three each cases recorded in Yobe and Plateau States, while one case recorded in Osun State.

As at now, 9855 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Nigeria with 2,856 patients discharged and 273 deaths recorded.
