The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Friday night, has announced the confirmation of another 5 news cases of COVID-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus in the country.
NCDC made the announcement Friday night on its official twitter account.
With the new 5 cases, Nigeria now has 70 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease.
It tweeted that the new patients are in Abuja and Oyo State.
NCDC tweeted the new #COVID19 cases “have been reported in Nigeria: 3 in FCT & 2 in Oyo State.
“As at 08:00 pm 27th March there is 70 cases of confirmed #COVID19 reported Nigeria. 3 have been discharged with 1 death”.
Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, on Friday, March 27, has made his Covid-19 test result, otherwise known as Coronavirus in public.
Fayemi disclosed that he tested negative to the deadly COVID-19 disease.
In a tweet on his verified Twitter handle, the governor also urged Nigerians to be vigilant against the spread of the disease.
“I just received my test result from NCDC and it is negative. Thanks to all for your concern. This, however, calls for continued vigilance on the part of everyone.
Covid-19 is real and we cannot afford to be complacent. JKF,” he tweeted.
Fayemi had on Wednesday gone into self-isolation following his contact with his counterpart from Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed who tested positive to Coronavirus.
