There is jubilation in the All Progressives Congress, APC camp after an election petition tribunal in Osun sacked Bamidele Salam of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP.
The election petitions tribunal sitting in Osogbo has annulled the election of Hon. Bamidele Salam, the lawmaker representing Ede Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and ordered a rerun election into selected units within the federal constituency.
The tribunal had in its ruling canceled some units in Ede South, Ede North, Ejigbo and Egbedore as a result of over-voting.
The Tribunal canceled elections in seven units across four local government areas as a result of over-voting.
The panel ordered rerun in the seven units because, after the cancellation of elections in units where over voting was established, the margin of victory between the winner and the petitioner, Mr. Adejare Bello of APC was lesser than the number of registered voters in the affected units.
The tribunal is also delivering judgment in cases affecting some state lawmakers.
