BREAKING: Gunmen Kidnap Man In Gov Fayemi’s Hometown
The incident reportedly happened on Friday evening (Christmas day) along Isan Ekiti-Iludun Ekiti Road.
Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a man named Ajayi Happy Okunola at Isan Ekiti, hometown of the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi.

It was gathered Okunola was said to be going to attend a wedding ceremony, when the kidnappers attacked him.
It was learnt that the gunmen who were hiding in the bush along the road attacked the Okunola’s vehicle and shot severally at his vehicle in an attempt to stop him.
A family source said Okunola’s vehicle was recovered on the road.
Okunola is said to hail from Eda-Oniyo Ekiti, in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
This is coming barely two days after gunmen attacked the Director of Physical Planning of the College of Education Ikere (now Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology), Mr Ajewole along the Ado Ekiti – Akure road.
It should be recalled that along Isan Ekiti-Iludun Ekiti Road axis, Olabode Folorunso, who was Commissioner for Agriculture in the cabinet of the government of Governor Fayemi and an unknown woman were kidnapped by gunmen.
A Councillor in Ilejemeje local government, Hon Olatunji Omotosho, was killed by the gunmen during the abduction on April 26, 2020.
Friday’s kidnap in the state adds to the worsening insecurity across Nigeria.
At least 349 people were killed and 291 others kidnapped in December in violent attacks across Nigeria, a report by a non-governmental organisation, Nigeria Mourn, shows.
