A former world best footballer, George Tawlon Manneh Oppong Ousman Weah, has been announced as the President-elect of Liberia, West Africa.
Mr. Weah swept thirteen out of the fifteen counties with his 73-year-old opponent Joseph Boakai getting only two (2) counties.
The 1995 FIFA World Player of the Year and Ballon d’Or winner will succeed President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, in a contest that completes the country’s first democratic transition of power in more than 70 years.
