BREAKING: Fulani herdsmen kidnap Ekiti monarch, his wife

Unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have abducted one of the Ekiti traditional rulers, Oba Sunday Adeniran Omotayo Oso, the Eleda of Eda Ile Ekiti in Ekiti East Local government of Ekiti State.

It was gathered that the gunmen kidnapped the monarch on Friday evening around 7:30 pm, few meters to the Eda Ile town.

The source gathered that the monarch and his wife were kidnapped but later the gunmen released the monarch’s wife.

As of the time of filing this report, the police yet to comment on the incident.

This incident making three monarchs kidnapped in the state.

In April, the Elewu of Ewu, in Ilemeje Local Government of Ekiti State, Oba Adetutu Ajayi escaped the kidnapper’s ambush while Oba David Oyewumi the Obadu of Ilemeso-Ekiti in Oye LG was not that lucky.

Oba Oyewumi was said to have been kidnapped in his palace by gunmen who scaled the fence, shot sporadically into the air and made away with him.
