Following the Federal Government of Nigeria policy to link subscribers’ National Identification Number (NIN) to their Subscriber Identity Module (SIM), the Nigerian government under the agency of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has extended the registration by eight weeks.
The government made the announcement on Tuesday morning.
In a statement signed by the Head, Corporate, Nigeria Identity Management Commission, NIMC, Mr. Kayode Adegoke said the new deadline was now April 6, 2021.
“The ongoing National Identification Number (NIN) and Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) integration exercise has been extended by 8 weeks.
“It said the new deadline was now April 6, 2021”.
He said the extension was conveyed by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami.
Pantami conveyed the message during the meeting of the Ministerial Taskforce on NIN-SIM registration which held on the 1st of February, 2021.
