BREAKING: Fayemi sacks seven commissioners, reshuffles cabinet in Ekiti
Among the commissioners that were dropped from the state executive council is Mr. Dapo Kolawole who was the Commissioner for Finance and Development, Dr (Mrs) Moji Yaya Kolade who was in charge of Health and Human Services, Mr. Gbenga Agbeyo who was Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources and Mr Febisola Adewale, who was commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development.
Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has sacked seven commissioners in a major cabinet reshuffle that also saw the appointment of eight new members into the state executive council as well as the swapping of portfolios as announced in Ado Ekiti on Monday.
Among the commissioners that were dropped from the state executive council is Mr. Dapo Kolawole who was the Commissioner for Finance and Development, Dr (Mrs) Moji Yaya Kolade who was in charge of Health and Human Services, Mr. Gbenga Agbeyo who was Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources and Mr Febisola Adewale, who was commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development.
Three commissioners who were dropped were however reappointed to honorary special advisers, they include Chief Mrs Mojisola Fafure who was the Commissioner of the Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Folorunso Olabode who was in charge of Agriculture and Rural Development and Mr.Foluso Daramola who was commissioner for Education, Science and Technology.
Other who were reassigned to other ministries include Aare Muyiwa Olumilua, son of the late former governor Bamidele Olumilua, until the shake-up was the commissioner for information and values orientation, but has now been made a commissioner for Trade, Investment and Commerce.
The governor stated that the reshuffling of the cabinet and the appointment of new ones were part of efforts to “strengthen all organs of government for the actualization of the governor’s completion agenda.’’

The state executive council now has 16 members with the appointment of new commissioners who include Dr. Oyebanji Filani who takes charge of the Ministry of Health, Alhaja Maryam Ogunlade, commissioner for women affairs, Barrister Akin Omole, Commissioner for Information and values orientation and Dr (Mrs) Adebimpe Aderiye, who is appointed as Commissioner for Education Science and Technology.

Akintunde Oyebode – Finance and economic development
Princess Iyabo Fakunle Okieme – Environment and Natural Resources.
Chief Oladiran Adesua – Housing and Urban Development.
Prince Olabode Adetoyi -Agricultural and rural development.
