BREAKING: Ex-Vice President, Atiku’s son tests positive for Coronavirus
The former Nigeria’s Vice President and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of the last general elections, Atiku Abubakar, has announced that his son tested positive for Coronavirus.
He made his known via his verified Twitter handle on Sunday.
“My son has tested positive to coronavirus,” he tweeted.
According to the former Vice-President of Nigeria, his son has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment.
“The @NCDCGov (Nigeria Centre for Disease Control) has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management. I will appreciate it if you have him in your prayers. Stay safe, coronavirus is real,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria’s Health Minister, Osagie Ehanire, on Sunday, March 22, has confirmed another eight new cases of coronavirus, including Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
This comes a day after 10 fresh cases were announced on Saturday.
Nigeria now has 30 confirmed cases of the virus.
Two persons have however, been discharged to go home and spending time in isolation centres for treatment.
No deaths have been recorded in the country for the pandemic.

Confirming the development, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control in a Twitter post said, “Three new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in #Nigeria.
“As at 05:28pm on the 22nd of March, there are 30 confirmed cases of #COVID19 recorded in Nigeria.
“Of the 30 confirmed cases, two have been discharged with no death.”
