BREAKING: El-Rufai sacks Kaduna Assembly Clerk, two others ahead of exit

As his tenure as the Governor of Kaduna State draws to a close, Nasir El-Rufai has approved the dismissal of three top officials in the state.

The affected officials are Bello Zubairu Idris, the Clerk of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yau Yunusa Tanko, a permanent secretary, and Francis Kozah, the secretary of the Kaduna Enterprise Development Agency (KADEDA).

The Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Muyiwa Adekeye, announced this in a statement on Monday.

He also said that the Governor accepted the retirement of Stephen Joseph, another permanent secretary in the state.

The statement did not give any reason for the sackings and retirement.

However, El-Rufai had earlier vowed to continue to remove “bad persons” and “bad things” from the state until his last day in office.

He made this declaration at the launch of a book titled “Putting The People First”, which chronicles his achievements and challenges as the Governor of Kaduna State.

The book was written by Emmanuel Ado, a veteran journalist and public commentator.

El-Rufai said he was determined to leave behind a legacy of good governance and service delivery for the next administration.

He also revealed that he had revoked the occupancy rights of nine properties belonging to the former state governor, Ahmed Makarfi, and marked them for possible demolition.
