BREAKING: Ekiti records new case of Coronavirus
Ekiti State on Friday night, April 16, has recorded a new case of Covid-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the state to 3.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Friday night, announced one case in Ekiti State, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 493.
NCDC made the announcement on its official Twitter account.
The new cases are spread across the seven states as well as Abuja, the country capital.
According to the breakdown, Lagos recorded 32 cases; two in the FCT, six in Kano, two in Oyo, five in Kwara, two in Kastina, one in Ogun and one in Ekiti..
NCDC said “Fifty-one new cases of #COVID19 have been reported;
32 in Lagos
6 in Kano
5 in Kwara
2 in FCT
2 in Oyo
2 in Katsina
1 in Ogun
1 in Ekiti
“As at 10:10 pm 17th April there are 493 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Newsflash247 had previously reported that Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi had, on April 13, ordered the lockdown for another period of 14 days to tackle the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic in the state.
He announced total shut down of the state and as well imposed 12-hour dusk-to-dawn curfew until Monday, April 27.
The governor said this was to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the state.
As of Friday night, April 17, Ekiti had 3 COVID-19 cases with one death, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
