BREAKING: Court upholds Wale Ojo’s emergence as Osun PDP acting chairman

An Osun State High Court sitting in Ile-Ife has upheld all the ward Congresses conducted under the leadership of Olasoji Adagunodo-led executive of the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The judgment also re-confirmed Barrister Wale Ojo as the acting Chairman of Osun PDP.

The Sunday Bisi-led Osun PDP had asked the court to set aside a November 22, 2021, judgment recognising Ojo as Osun PDP chairman.

In a similar development, the former Ekiti State governor, Segun Oni, has joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to contest for the June 18 governorship poll.

Oni, who disclosed this during the interview with him in the Private radio, Voice FM 89.9, Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, monitored by Newsflash Nigeria.

The former governor said he is on the verge of finalising discussions with the national leadership of SDP to get the governorship ticket.

Mr Oni was the governor of the state under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) between May 29, 2007, and October 15, 2010.

He was removed by a court judgement that ruled in favour of the then-candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Kayode Fayemi.

In 2014, the former governor defected to the All Progressives Congress from PDP to support the second term bid of Fayemi, the incumbent governor of Ekiti.

However, in 2020, he returned to the PDP.  Three weeks ago, February 5, Oni had withdrawn his membership from the party.
