BREAKING: Another Nigerian Senator dies in Turkey

The former Deputy Governor of Plateau State and current Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Senator Ignatius Longjan is dead.

Reports said Longjan died in a Turkish hospital.

According to the Media Aide to the Senator, Mr Wulime Goyit, who confirmed the incident to Newsflash247.

Also, the Chief Of Staff to the senator while he was a Deputy governor, John Dafa’an said “It is true, our father and distinguished Senator representing Plateau South is dead, baba died after battling with illness for a long time in Turkey,”.


Senator Longjan was elected in 2019 on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He was 75-year-old.

His death comes barely two months after Imo senator, Ben Uwajumogwu, died.

He was the Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Culture and Tourrism.

Longjan was a former deputy governor of Plateau State between 2011 and 2015 .

He replaced Jeremiah Useni of the Peoples Democratic Party who contested for the governorship seat in 2019.
