BREAKING: 131 in Lagos as Nigeria records total of 6401 cases of Coronavirus

Nigeria on Tuesday night, May 19, has recorded another 226 new cases of Covid-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus in fifteen (15) states as well as Abuja, the country capital, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 6401 and 192 deaths.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made the announcement on Tuesday night, on its official Twitter account.

The new cases are spread across Lagos, Ogun, Plateau, Edo, Kaduna, Oyo, Adamawa, Jigawa, Ebonyi, Borno, Nasarawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Enugu and Bayelsa States as well as country capital, Abuja.

The centre also said that five (5) person deaths from Coronavirus-related complications in the country, but the number of fatalities rise to 192.

NCDC said “131 new cases were recorded in Lagos, 25 in Ogun State, 15 in Plateau, 11 in Edo, 7 in Kaduna, 6 in Oyo, 5 in the Federal Capital Territory and five on Adamawa State.

The tweet further revealed that four cases each were recorded in Jigawa, Ebonyi and Borno States, three in Nasarawa, Two in Bauchi and Gombe States and one each in Enugu and Bayelsa States.

As at now, 6401 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Nigeria with 1734 patients discharged and 192 deaths recorded.
