Bobrisky and James Brown may risk jail for 6 months as National Assembly move a bill seeking to stop cross-dressing in Nigeria from being common in Nigeria.
A bill seeking to ban cross-dressing in Nigeria was introduced in the House of Representatives chamber on Tuesday.
Newsflash Nigeria gathered that cross-dressing has become more common in Nigeria following the fame of the popular Instagram entertainer, Bobrisky.
Bobrisky is born male and his birth name is Okuneye Idris Olarenwaju but has chosen to dress like the opposite gender.
He is popularly known for his presence on the social media apps Snapchat and Instagram.
However, a member of the House of Representatives, Umar Muda has presented before the chamber a bill seeking to stop the likes of Bobrisky.
Others include James Chukwueze Obialor, alias James Brown and Adenrele Oluwafemi Edun, popularly known as Denrele.

Newsflash Nigeria understands that the bill passed its first reading on the floor of the House on Tuesday.
With this proposed law, crossdressers now risk 6 months in prison if passed.
The bill seeks to amend the same-s-x marriage (prohibition) act of 2013 by including cross-dressing as one of the offences under the act.
Newsflash Nigeria understands that same-s-x couples and gay persons in Nigeria are at risk of facing 14 years in jail if convicted by a court.
“A person engaging in cross-dressing is guilty of an offence and liable to imprisonment of 6 months or a fine of five hundred thousand naira,” a part of the bill has read.
