Bandits land in Ekiti attack Butchers, set Cows ablaze

Suspected to be Bandits have reportedly attacked and robbed three meat sellers operating in the government Abattoir along Iworoko road in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

Also, the bandits set ablaze the new vehicle of the traders loaded with cows.

The incident occurred at Omupo, the boundary of Ekiti and Kwara States when the meat sellers were on their way to Ado Ekiti.

The two of the victims, Olawunmi Oladele and Adeniyi Kolawole who spoke to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, explained that the Bandits or Fulani herdsmen blocked the road with heavy objects, adding that when they made attempts to reverse the attackers shot at them.

According to them, the attackers collected their phones, money, ATM and other valuables before setting their vehicle loaded with cows ablaze.

The meat sellers lamented that the vehicle set ablaze was recently procured while they borrowed money to purchase the cows worth over two million naira.

Mr Adeniyi and Mr kolawole called on Ekiti state government and other philanthropists to assist them, saying all they laboured for had been lost to the incident.
