Baddest Lawyer Breaks Silence On NBA Petition, Says She Is Not A Practising Lawyer
Nigerian lawyer and social media sensation, Ifunanya Excel Grant, also known as Baddest Lawyer, has finally addressed the petition filed by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) against her online activities.
The NBA had accused Ifunanya of misconduct and unprofessionalism for posting provocative and controversial content on social media platforms such as Tiktok, Instagram and Twitter.
However, Ifunanya has come out to clear the air on the matter, stating that she is not a practising lawyer and has no plans to practise law in the near future.
In a video message posted on her Tiktok page, Ifunanya explained that she is a lawyer by qualification, but not by profession. She said she is more interested in pursuing her career in the entertainment industry as a model, actress and rapper.
She said, “I have to speak up because silence means consent. I want to clear my name and let everyone know that I am not a practising lawyer. I have a law degree, but I am not practising law. Maybe someday in the future, but not now.
“Right now, I am a model. I am an actress, and I am an upcoming musician, a rapper, to be precise. So everything I do, everything I post [on social media] is just for entertainment purposes. It has nothing to do with my legal career. I am not practising law. I don’t have any intention to practise law for now. So right now, my focus is on the entertainment business.
“I have always been a model. I have always been into music. I have always been an actress. So being a lawyer is just one of the many things I am. Everything I post on social media is in my capacity as a model, an actress, and upcoming rapper.”
