The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has received the school documents of President Bola Tinubu from the Chicago State University (CSU).
Atiku had won a legal battle to investigate the academic qualification of Tinubu in the February 25 presidential election.
Tinubu had submitted certificates from the CSU to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to qualify for the election.
However, Atiku challenged the authenticity of the certificates and filed a petition to access Tinubu’s academic records from the CSU.
A US court on Saturday granted Atiku’s request and ordered the CSU to release Tinubu’s documents for verification.
Justice Nancy Maldonado dismissed Tinubu’s objection and directed the CSU to submit the academic records to Atiku.
The CSU complied with the court order and released the documents on Monday night.
The documents show that Tinubu graduated from the CSU in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
However, there are some discrepancies between the certificates provided by Tinubu to INEC and the ones released by the CSU. For instance, the logo and the signature of the CSU are different in both sets of documents.
