The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has revealed the shocking truth about the educational background of President Bola Tinubu.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Atiku accused Tinubu of lying about his academic qualifications and skipping primary and secondary school education.
Atiku said that in 1999, Tinubu claimed that he attended St. John’s Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos, and Children Home School in Ibadan, before proceeding to Government College Ibadan and later to Richard Daley College and Chicago State University in the United States.
However, in 2023, Tinubu changed his story and said that he only attended Chicago State University, without mentioning any primary or secondary school education.
Atiku wondered how Tinubu could have obtained a university degree without having any basic education.
He challenged Tinubu to explain how he achieved this feat and urged Nigerians to ask him questions about his educational fraud.
Atiku wrote: “I woke up this morning wondering how we got to this cul de sac. In 1999, @officialABAT claimed he attended St. John’s Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos, before proceeding to Children Home School in Ibadan.
“According to him, his next port of call in his educational journey was Government College Ibadan and, Richard Daley College and Chicago State University in the United States.
“Curiously, in 2023, Tinubu settled with attending only @ChicagoState. I am scratching my head. How is that possible? Methinks that all well-meaning Nigerians should be as confused as I am with Tinubu’s declaration that he had no primary and secondary education, yet he has a university degree. You may wish to #AskTinubu how he attained this feat so that we can learn from his ingenuity -AA.”
Atiku’s post has sparked a lot of reactions from Nigerians on X, who expressed their dismay and disappointment at Tinubu’s deception.
Some users also shared their own experiences of being denied admission or employment opportunities because of their lack of proper educational credentials.
Tinubu has not yet responded to Atiku’s allegations or provided any proof of his educational claims. His silence has raised more doubts about his integrity and credibility as the president of Nigeria.
Tinubu’s academic records have been the subject of much speculation and controversy. In 2015, he was accused of forging his degree certificate from the University of Chicago. Tinubu denied the accusation, but he has never released his academic transcripts to the public.
