Army kills Boko Haram commander, Alhaji Modu, 27 others in Borno
Troops of the Operation Hadin Kai Air Task Force ATF have killed a Boko Haram commander, Alhaji Modu along with 27 other terrorists in Borno State.
Newsflash Nigeria gathered that Alhaji Modu popularly referred to as “Bem Bem” and his gang members were killed during a military airstrike around Mandara mountains in the Gwoza Local Government Area of the state.
It was learnt that Alhaji Modu was a renowned drug baron and armed robber before he joined the Boko Haram sect.
According to military sources, the troops launched the airstrike on the terrorists following credible intelligence reports that the ISWAP fighters had converged in large numbers in the area to attack some villages.
The sources said Modu was under the supervision of a top Boko Haram leader, Ali Ngoshe, who both reside inside the caves in Mandara mountain from where they coordinate attacks in Nigeria, Cameroon, and the Niger Republic.
According to reports, Alhaji Modu masterminded the displacement of Bama town in 2014, killing hundreds of innocent citizens before declaring it a Boko Haram caliphate.
