APC chieftain alleges plot kidnap over Ekiti Guber primary
A few days to the governorship primary of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, a chieftain, High Chief Adeniyi Adedipe, has raised the alarm over an alleged plot by some politicians to kidnap him.
Adedipe, who is the leader of the Odua People Congress (OPC) New Era in Ekiti State, alleged those behind the plot are planning to use security agents to arrest him before the party’s primary slated for Thursday.
He made the allegations in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital on Sunday while speaking with newsmen.
He alleged he was being hunted because of his avowed affiliation with a governorship aspirant of APC, Engr. Kayode Ojo.
Adedipe said that he had resisted a series of pressure from those he described as “expired politicians” to dump Ojo, who he said is perceived to be a threat to the aspiration of their preferred governorship aspirant.
He said that the underground plots were to kidnap and keep him incommunicado to prevent him from continuing his grassroots mobilisation of members of APC for his preferred aspirant before and during the shadow poll.
He said that the powerful politicians had already commissioned political thugs in cohorts with some security agents who have been ordered to give them cover to trail and abduct him.
He recounted the experience he had in the build-up to the 2007 governorship election when he was arrested and kept in the custody of the Department of State Security (DSS) by some forces for supporting the late Chief Bode Olowoporoku.

The APC Chieftain said that he remained solidly behind Ojo’s ambition despite the alleged evil machination, adding that he decided to make his ordeal known to the public because he is scared of his life and the safety of his family.
Adedipe asked the security agencies to take note of his complaints, calling on Nigerians to note that should anything happen to him or his family, they should know where it definitely emanates from.
“Sequel to my irreversible and unalloyed to support the aspiration of Eng. Kayode Ojo, governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress some powerful politicians are after my life for refusing to support their preferred choice.
“ I have been made aware of plans by the camp of a politician with entrenched interest in the APC primaries slated for Thursday, to kidnap and keep me out of circulation before and during the shadow poll to prevent me from mobilisation the party’s members for Engr. Ojo.
“Information made available to me from impeccable sources clearly indicate that to achieve their game plan, the desperate politicians had instructed their agents to do everything possible to ensure I am out of the game before Wednesday either by crook or by hook.
“So, I deem it necessary to alert all and sundry that should anything happen to me and my family, it is as a result of my support for Engr. Kayode Ojo against the choice of some powerful politicians in the State.
“This is an outcry to protect my life and my family. That I refuse to support their preferred choice should not warrant a threat to my life. I can never betray my conscience. My support for Engr. Ojo is unflinching and sacrosanct,” he stressed.
