The ward chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Christopher Ogah, has been arrested in Nasarawa State for defiling two girls, aged 12 and 13 years respectively in his house.

A witness, Oyikobi Ambassador, said the suspect is the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obi Ward.’
He said that the girls were aged 12 and 13 years respectively. Another source, who preferred anonymity, said the politician lured the girls when they entered his house to fetch water in a well.
He said it was alleged that was not the first time the suspect was arrested for such an act.
Chairman of the local government, Alhaji Mohammad Oyimoga Oyigye, confirmed the incident, saying he saved the suspect from being lynched by angry youth and handed him over to the police, and that he has been transferred to Lafia to forestall breakdown of peace in the area.
In his reaction, Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Mr Bola Longe said, “I have directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Lafia for discreet investigation after which the suspect will be charged to court.

“The police, under my watch, are warning would-be rapists to have a rethink or face the wrath of the law.
“I am assuring the public of the police command’s commitment to arrest and prosecute anyone found wanting no matter how highly placed.”
