APC Chairman, 5,000 Members Defect To PDP In Delta
No fewer than 5,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ika South local government area of Delta State in the early hours of Tuesday dumped the party for the state ruling party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Expectedly, the chairman of APC in Ika South, Edwin Okoh, who led the 5,000 other members to PDP, told newsmen that their decision to dump the party for PDP was informed by many crises that had bedeviled the party in the recent times, adding that the good works of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the state governor, was sufficient reason for their imperative move to PDP apart from the crisis in APC.
The ceremony held at the Ika South open field and witnessed supporters singing praises of Governor Okowa as well as insisting that “no vacancy in Government House”.
Receiving the decampees, the Ika South local government chairman for PDP, Mr. Collins Bello, said APC remained dead in the state and attributed the collapsed of the party to intimidating performance of the state governor across the state, adding that even the blind could see and feel the wonderful works of the governor in the past three years.
