Anambra Decides: Soludo extends lead as more results come in from Ihiala LGA
The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, Charles Soludo, has extended his lead in the election as more results arrive from the Ihiala local government supplementary election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)) had scheduled Tuesday (today) for the supplementary polls in Ihiala Local Government after security threats and other logistics challenges couldn’t allow the election hold on November 6/7 when other local government in Anambra had their turn.
The voting was concluded at 4pm as announced by the electoral umpire after which collation and sorting of results commenced.
Below are the results received from Ihiala so far.

Meanwhile, the collation of the final result for the Anambra 2021 Governorship Election is yet to start at the state collation center in Awka.
INEC had earlier announced that the final collation of results will commence at the venue by 9pm but as at the time of filing this report, the exercise was yet to commence.
However, INEC officials including the Returning Officer for the Gubernatorial Election, Professor Florence Obi are already seated at the venue waiting for results from Ihiala LGA.
All things being equal, the winner of the Anambra 2021 Governorship Election will be declared before the day is over.
Recall before the suspension, APGA’s candidate, Prof Charles Soludo, had won 18 out of 20 local government declared so far in Anambra State, with a total of 103,946 votes.
Followed by the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Valentine Ozigbo with 51,322 votes, and the All Progressives Congress candidate, Andy Uba, with 42,942 votes coming a distant third.
