Akwa Ibom Assembly Crisis: Don’t Parade Yourself As Speaker, Court Tells Nse Ntuen
A High Court sitting in Uyo on Wednesday, November 28, has granted an order of interim injunction restraining Hon. Nse Ntuen from parading himself as the Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly pending the determination of the motion on notice filed by Ekemini Udim Esq, Counsel to Speaker Onofiok Luke.
The ruling by Hon. Justice Ekaete Obot ordered that the injunction is served on Nse Ntuen in person and also be pasted on every conspicuous part of the Assembly complex to forestall breakdown of law by the sacked lawmakers.
On Tuesday, an attempt by 5 unseated the All Progressives Congress, APC lawmakers who were formerly members of the state House of Assembly had been foiled.
The illegal invasion by five sacked lawmakers was aided by some security agents and thugs, who chased out the staff of the House of Assembly.
However, the arrival of the Speaker of the Assembly Onofiok Luke, who was accompanied by 20 other members marked a tragic end of the comedy.
