AGF Malami marries Buhari’s daughter as his third wife at Aso Rock
Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of Federation, Abubakar Malami has married Nana Hadiza, daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The marriage ceremony came at the Presidential Villa mosque on Friday and was attended by both families.
Nana Hadiza, aged 41, married the Attorney-General as his third wife.
Nana Hadiza is Buhari’s third daughter with his first wife, Safinatu.
Hadiza was married to Abdulrahman Mamman Kurfi with whom she had six children before their divorce.
With this marriage, Hadiza becomes the third wife of the minister — after Aisha and Fatima.
The wedding was first disclosed on Thursday night by journalist Jackson Ude, and several bloggers have shared pictures from the event throughout Friday.
Nana Hadiza attended First Essence International School, then Cobham Hall, Kent, United Kingdom.
She also attended the University of Buckingham. She had previously obtained education at the National Teachers Institute, Kaduna; as well as a master’s degree in international affairs and strategic studies, at the Kaduna Polytechnic.
Mr Buhari has conducted three previous weddings for his children since he assumed office in 2015, including Zahra Ahmed Indimi, Yusuf Buhari and Aisha Mohammed Sha’aban.
Malami was appointed as AGF and Minister of Justice after President Buhari won the election in 2015 — he was re-appointed on August 21, 2019.
The minister had, on April 28, declared his intention to contest the Kebbi governorship in the 2023 elections, on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, and thereafter submitted his N50 million nomination form on May 11.
However, Malami announced his decision to withdraw from the poll after the president asked ministers interested in contesting for office to resign their positions in line with section 84 of the Electoral Act 2022.
