A few days to Christmas, unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a traditional Chief identified as Emmanuel Ojo Obafemi in Ijan-Ekiti, Gbonyin Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

The victim was working on his farm when the gunmen stormed his farmland and whisked him away to an unknown destination.
This incident occurred three days after kidnappers abducted a woman with her 4-year-old girl and a primary school teacher in Ayebode Ekiti-Ilasa road in the Ekiti East Local Government Area of Ekiti State, demanding N50 million ransom to secure their release.
According to the wife of the victim, Mrs Obafemi said her husband was kidnapped on his farm around 5:42 pm on Thursday.
“They did not come with vehicle or motorcycle, but they shot sporadically into the air before whisking him away” the victim’s wife recounts.
