Bella Shmurda’s Mother Advises Him To Stay Away From Nigeria After Mohbad’s Death
The Nigerian music industry is mourning the loss of one of its rising stars, Promise IleriOluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, who died on September 12, 2023. The cause of his death is still unknown and many fans and celebrities are demanding justice for him.
One of his close friends and fellow singer, Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, aka Bella Shmurda, has opened up about how Mohbad’s death has affected him. Bella Shmurda, who is currently in Canada, revealed that his mother told him not to return to Nigeria yet because of the situation.
Bella Shmurda spoke at a candlelight procession that was held in honour of Mohbad in Canada on September 23, 2023.
He described Mohbad as his brother, his guy, and his best friend. He said he was shocked when he heard the news of his death shortly after he left Nigeria.
“My mum had to call me, ‘Bella don’t come home yet, stay put there’. I understand what she’s saying. RIP Mohbad, God bless you wherever you are, even in your grave. I don’t know what to say, just thank you everybody for coming and #JusticeForMohbad,” Bella Shmurda said.
Mohbad was a former Malian Records signee and had released several hit songs before his demise.
He was loved by many for his talent and charisma. His death has left a huge void in the Nigerian music scene and his fans are hoping that the truth will come out soon.
