Fayose Donates N200,000 to Mohbad’s Family, Pledges N100,000 Monthly Support
The family of the late singer Mohbad has received a generous donation from Isaac Fayose, the brother of former Ekiti governor Ayo Fayose.
Isaac Fayose said he was moved by the tragic news of Mohbad’s death, even though he did not know him or his music personally.
Isaac Fayose shared a video on his Instagram page, where he showed the transfer of N200,000 (Two hundred thousand naira) to Mohbad’s wife and son.
He also promised to send them a monthly upkeep of N100,000 (One Hundred thousand naira) henceforth. He said he wanted to help them cope with the loss of their breadwinner and support their welfare.
In addition, Isaac Fayose said he would shop for Mohbad’s son abroad and deliver the items to them in 12 days when he returns. He said he hoped his gesture would bring some comfort and joy to the family.
He captioned the video: “Rest In Peace Moh Bad!!! I pledge 100k monthly for the upkeep of the little boy he left behind….May God comfort you and the rest of the family.”
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, 27, passed away on Tuesday and was buried on Wednesday.
He was a rising star in the Nigerian music industry and had released several hit songs, such as “Koma Jensun”, “Ponmo Sweet” and “Feel Good”. He was signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label.
His death shocked many fans and celebrities, who paid tribute to him on social media. Some of his colleagues also organized a candlelight procession for him in Lagos on September 18.
