Board Approves Promotion of 17,331 Immigration, NSCDC, Correctional, Fire Officers
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has announced the promotion of 17,331 senior officers from four security services under the Ministry of Interior.
The promotion exercise, which was approved by the board chairman, Rauf Aregbesola, covers the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Federal Fire Service (FFS) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
According to a statement by the board secretary, Ja’afaru Ahmed, the promotion was based on merit and performance of the officers.
The breakdown of the promotion shows that 8,365 officers were promoted in the NCoS, 3,472 in the NIS, 327 in the FFS and 5,167 in the NSCDC.
The board chairman congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to work harder towards achieving the mandates and visions of their respective services and ensuring the internal security of the country.
