Investment in future of our youth is a must – Olusola
Ekiti state deputy governor, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka has charged those who are well off in the society to as a matter of importance invest in the lives of our youth, saying affluence without meaningful impacts in the lives of the youth is meaningless.
Eleka who dropped this admonition today at Usi Ekiti during the scholarship award program organized by Sunday Agbetuyi Foundation (SAFO) said if he, and the dignitaries on the high table had not gone to school to receive good education, they wouldn’t have been who they are today, noting that everything good comes with good investment, most especially education.
“Some bright and brilliant students could not further their education because they couldn’t pay their school fees, some could have been great and important personalities today, but they aren’t because they couldn’t complete their education due to paucity of fund
“Fingers are not equal, even in their inequality, they still aid and assist themselves; this is why the well off in the society should come around and assist the less privileged in the society.
“Sunday Agbetuyi is here today, God has helped him, he has lifted him up, and he’s here helping the less privileged so that they too can be useful to themselves and the society at large. This is a show of love, as commanded by God. This is what we should be doing in our society, this is what I have been doing,” Eleka said.
In his welcome address, the benefactor and the Chairman of SAFO, Mr Sunday Agbetuyi said his organization believes in giving back to the society adding that they are actively committed to rendering financial assistance to Students in Ekiti State. He urged those who have not benefitted to remain hopeful, promising that “hope is on the way.”
“At the Sunday Agbetuyi Foundation (SAFO), we strongly believe in giving back to the society and that is why we at Sunday Agbetuyi Foundation (SAFO) are actively committed to rendering financial assistance to students in Ekiti State
“We have been assisting students financially over years across Ido-Osi, regardless of their towns, villages or religions and this year, we have decided to relief almost 200 parents and their children by paying off their school fees. We are again reassuring those that have not benefitted from this scheme to be hopeful.
“It should be noted that lack of financial resources has been the main contributor of not having a good education, and in other to reduce the possibility of that happening, we at Sunday Agbetuyi Foundation (SAFO) have decided to make accessibility to quality education of paramount importance to us because good education remains panacea for a better society”, Agbetuyi said.
