Avoid travelling to FCT, 12 states in Nigeria – United Kingdom govt warns citizens
The United Kingdom (UK) government alert its citizens again for avoiding travel to Nigeria’s national capital, FCT and 12 other states in Nigeria over the high level of insecurity.
The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office issued the fresh terror alert on Monday in its updated foreign advisory to its citizens in Nigeria.
The UK which had barely two weeks ago issued a terror alert warning its citizens against travelling to or around Abuja over an alleged planned attack by terrorists, in the fresh alert said that some other states should however be travelled to only if it is essential.

The FCDO advises against travelling to other areas of Nigeria remains in place.
“The FCDO advises against all travel to Borno State, Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe, Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara, and the riverine areas of Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.”
The UK authorities added that “The FCDO advises against all but essential travel to Bauchi State, Kano, Jigawa, Niger, Sokoto, Kogi, within 20km of the border with Niger in Kebbi State, Abia, non-riverine areas of Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers states, Plateau, and Taraba states.”
