Ekiti Poll: Bisi Kolawole reacts on group seeks Segun Oni’s disqualification from Guber race

One of the leading governorship aspirants under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Otunba Bisi Kolawole, has dissociated himself from the publication alleged him and his supporters to disqualify Engr. Segun Oni, for the 2022 governorship election in the state from contesting under the PDP platform.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had on Tuesday in Abuja through its Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, slated the conduct of the next Ekiti governorship election for June 18, 2022.

In the publication, the group named Ekiti PDP Vanguard had called on the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party to disqualify Engr. Segun Oni, an aspirant for the 2022 governorship election in the state from contesting under the PDP platform.

The group, which pledged their support for Otunba Bisi Kolawole, accused Segun Oni of trying to reap where he did not sow, saying that his political marauding should not be rewarded by the party.

“Engineer Segun Oni as one of the chief beneficiaries of PDP’s magnanimity in 2007, was made candidate of PDP for Ekiti State despite coming distant 3rd at the primary and through hard task became the Governor for 3 years.

“Segun Oni cannot be trusted as his political nomadic history shows that he can defect to APC with PDP mandate if it fuels his selfish desires – God forbid he win anyway. He may even trade PDP’s ticket for the Jagaban his political director in APC going by his antecedents”.

“When he returned to PDP in 2020, we expected him to join hands with our leader, Ayo Fayose, and work with him to dislodge the opposition from Ekiti State . We expected him to queue behind our leaders choice -Bisi Kolawole for us to defeat the ruling party. But typical of his character, he wants to destroy our party for his selfish ambition. Indeed, a leopard cannot change its skin”.
