‘Fake tears’: Nigerians react as Gov El-Rufai cries at COAS Attahiru’s Burial

Nigerians on social media have reacted to the video of Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, emotional and in tears at the burial of the Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 other military officers who died on May 21st in an air crash.

Attahiru died in a plane crash close to the Kaduna Airport on Friday.

Ten other officers were also killed when the Beachcraft 350 aircraft came down due to bad weather.

Their remains were on Saturday, May 22, moved to the National Mosque and the Nigerian Air Force Protestant Church venues of prayers.

The spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, said they would be buried at the Army Cemetery in Abuja.

The burial rites started around 1 pm and were attended by top dignitaries in Nigeria’s Armed Forces and Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State.
