Trucks coming from Ekiti crushes six to death in Ondo
Following the brake failure, the trucks were said to have rammed into shops situated by the roadsides, killing six persons at the spot and injuring many others.
Six persons lost their lives in a fatal accident that occurred in Ikare –Akoko, headquarters of Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State on Saturday.
The accident, which claimed the lives of the victims, occurred at Okorun area of the ancient town when two trucks simultaneously suffered brake failure while descending a slope.
Following the brake failure, the trucks were said to have rammed into shops situated by the roadsides, killing six persons at the spot and injuring many others.
The eyewitness said, “The incident happened around 4pm on Saturday. The two trucks, carrying loads, were coming from Ekiti State and were both heading towards Akure.”

The Head of Operation of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Samuel Oyedeji, confirmed the incident saying the remains of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of the general hospital in Ikare Akoko.
“The accident involved two trucks and six motorcycles. Six persons died,” Oyedeji said.
