PHOTOS: Heavy Rain Falls Cause Flooding In Washington D.C

Flooding in the Washington D.C. area on July 8th was simply unbelievable. Traffic was snarled throughout the City, this requiring numerous water rescues.

“This is a life-threatening situation. Seek higher ground now!” the National Weather Service (NWS) warned amid the heavy rains that dropped 3.3 inches at Reagan National Airport in just one hour between the hours of 9 a.m. through 10 a.m. shattering in one hour the previous record of 2.2 inches set in 1958.

A flash flood warning was immediately issued for the D.C. metro area until 1:45 p.m. Monday by the NWS

Areas of concern include the Great Falls, Virginia, area and southeastern Montgomery County, Maryland.
