Hersdmen Killing: Fayemi Orders Construction Of Police Post
Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has ordered immediate construction of police post in Orin-Ekiti Farm Settlement to prevent future possible attack by criminals.
Governor Fayemi gave the directive when he led heads of security agencies and goverment officials on a sympathy visit to Orin-Ekiti following the killing of a farmer Mr. Emmanuel Ilori by suspected herdsmen on Saturday.
He emphasised that no group or individual would be allowed to take over any land in Ekiti.
He also added that his government was poised to always ensure the safety of it’s people.
The Governor urged the people not to politicise the attack stressing that security agencies have been mobilized to ensure that those who killed the hunter Mr. Emmanuel Ilori were apprehended.
The Governor who commiserated with the people of Orin-Ekiti and the family of the deceased for the loss condemned the attack and described it as unfortunate.
He told the people that government would take care of the deceased family as part of measures to cushion the effect of his vacuum.
Responding on behalf of the community, the Eletin of Orin-Ekiti, High Chief Francis Falua urged government to do the needful and protect them from further attack.
The daughter of the deceased Mrs. Olanike Akinwumi thanked the Govenor for the visit and appealed to government to provide necessary facilities for the security agencies to enable them to cope with the present security situation.
