Trailer loaded with politician campaign rice Kills 40 people in Ekiti

Tragedy struck late Saturday night in Ekiti State, as a trailer said to be fully loaded with bags of rice belonging to an Ondo politician contesting for a senatorial seat crashed at Iworoko Ekiti.

An eyewitness reported that about 40 people have died while a few people rushed to the hospital.

Newsflash247 correspondent report that a trailer carrying ONDO APC SENATORIAL CANDIDATE, Tayo Alasoadura’s “Rice for Votes” have developed brake failure, crashed into Iworoko market, allegedly killing over 40 people.

Iworoko Ekiti is home to a large number of students of Ekiti State University due to its proximity to the institution’s main campus.

It was gathered that the accident occurred during the market peak period. A large crowd of sympathisers were seen wailing at the scene of the accident .

When contacted, the Police Public Relation Officer, Ekiti State Police Command, Mr. Caleb Ikechukwu, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
