African Cup: Egypt To Host 2019 AFCON
The Confederation Of African Football (CAF) has confirmed Egypt will host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Egypt beat South Africa, the only other country to bid for the tournament.
Cameroon were stripped of its hosting rights in November because of slow preparations.
Tuesday’s announcement took placein the Senegalese capital Dakar, which will host Caf’s annual awards ceremony later in the day.
MySportDab report Egypt received 16 votes to South Africa’s one, Caf confirmed in a press conference.
Egypt, which will host the tournament for a fifth time and has just six months to prepare for the expanded 24-team finals, which kick off in June.
