You Can’t Compel National Assembly To Reconvene – PDP Tells Presidency
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the presidency can’t compel the National Assembly to reconvene over the 2019 general elections.
Addressing newsmen, yesterday in Abuja, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, argued that Buhari was not ready to conduct the 2019 general polls and was capitalising on the recess by the lawmakers to frustrate the process.
“Was President Buhari not aware that the National Assembly would be on recess this time of the year? Was it in July, he realised the 2019 general elections would commence in February 2019?” Ologbondiyan queried.
The party also described as fake news, the purported defection of the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, claiming it has not received any notice of his resignation.
