Ex-Akwa-Ibom Gov, Akpabio Bids PDP Farewell, Joins APC On Wednesday
The former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and now the Senate Minority Leader, H.E Sen. (Dr) Godswill Akpabio has finally bared farewell to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This is confirmed by the statement from the Senior Special Assistant SSA to President Buhari on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Distinguished Senator (Dr) Ita Solomon Enang. In a short SMS by the Presidential Liaison Office to our reporter, the presidential Aide said he can confirm that the APC family in Nigeria will receive Senator Akpabio in an elaborate event on Wednesday 8th August 2018.
Further confirmation was made by the Special Adviser to Presidential Buhari on Prosecution, Okoi Obono-Obal, who posted on his personal Facebook account: “there shall be an APC Rally at Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Abasi Ibom State on Wednesday the 8th August 2018 to receive the former indefatigable Governor of the State, His Excellency, Senator Godswill Akpabio to the All Progressives Congress! Acting President Osinbajo accompanied by Senator Ita Enang and leaders of the APC in Akwa Ibom will formally receive Senator Godswill Akpabio into the APC at Ikot Ekpene Stadium”
A source closed to former governor has hinted that the Senate Minority Leader will be coming into APC with not less 17 serving House of Assembly members, serving SAs, current LGAs Chairmen, and some other heavyweight from his Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.
