Findings by OrderPaperNG showed that some senators-elect from the ruling party led by Amosun may have thrown their support for Ndume to be the Senate President.
These Senators are largely those returning and a few former governors who are aggrieved about the “bullying tendencies” of the party’s national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
It would be recalled that Ibikunle was suspended on the 1st of March by the APC for alleged anti-party activities. He had backed the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate, Adekunle Akinlade, for the post of Ogun governor, against that of his party and eventual winner, Dapo Abiodun.
