2023: Tinubu distributes bags of rice, other foodstuffs to Kano residents

As the 2023 presidential election draws nearer, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has commenced distribution of bags of rice and other foodstuffs to Kano residents.

Recall that the former Lagos State governor had donated millions of Naira to victims of Katsina market fire incident.

People were handed ‘Jagaban’ bags of rice, as seen in a video that surfaced on social media.

Nigerian politicians are notorious for giving handouts, popularised as ‘stomach infrastructure’ by ex-Governor Ayo Fayose, to would-be voters before and during an election period.

An Instagram username @mansurah_isah of Today’s Life Foundation uploaded pictures of the event with a caption appreciating Mr Tinubu’s foundation for the food items.

The donation followed Mr Tinubu’s donation of foodstuffs and other items to orphanages in Lagos and Ogun.

In an interview with Mansurah Isah, a foremost Kannywood actress and a member of an organization leading the distribution of the rice, she told Newsflash Nigeria that the distribution started on Saturday in Rimin Kebe, Nassarawa Local Government of the state.

She also said that the foundation distributed some of the foodstuffs to the Kabo Local Government on Sunday.

Mansurah noted that her organization is not the only organization that was charged with the responsibility of distribution.

She said “our primary target is the women group in rural communities.”

She added that each of the foundation received 100 bags and each bag contains 5kg of rice.
