Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and other South West presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are currently meeting at the Lagos House in Marina.
The meeting was convened by a former governor of Osun State Bisi Akande and a former Ogun State governor Olusegun Osoba.
Those present at the meeting included Osinbajo; a former governor of Lagos, Bola Tinubu; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The governors of Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Ondo and Osun states are also present. The ministers of works and housing, trade and industry and investment, and interior amongst others, are in attendance.
Details of the meeting are still sketchy as of the time of publishing this report.
Newsflash Nigeria learnt that party leaders in the zone are concerned about the number of aspirants from the region, saying it might jeopardise their chances during the party primaries.
Newsflash Nigeria understands that about seven aspirants from the South-West zone were declared to run for the president under the platform of APC.
The APC’s seven aspirants include the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo; Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; former governors of Lagos and the Ogun States; Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Pastor Tunde Bakare and Ondo Senator, Ajayi Borriface and Former Speaker House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole.
Newsflash Nigeria also learnt that the former Osun governor, Rauf Aregbesola and former Lagos Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode are set to declare for the president.
