2023: I am hale, hearty, and ready to serve Nigeria – Tinubu
Amid concerns about his health status, the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC),Bola Ahmed Tinubu, says he was hale and hearty.
Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State, shared a seven seconds workout video on his Twitter handle, where he was seen riding on a stationary bicycle.
He dispelled the rumour of death and withdrawal from the February 2023 Presidential election.
The eminent politician said those making false claims about him evaded reality.
Exuding confidence, the standard bearer, who was spotted on an exercise bike in a video that went viral, declared that he was strong, healthy and ready to serve.
For some time now, detractors have always peddled rumours about the former Lagos State governor’s health anytime he was out of the country.
Recently, social media abusers have intensified efforts at misinformation through obvious fake news.
However, on Sunday, on his Twitter handle, Tinubu said their rumours and falsehoods about his health and fitness were a figment of a hyperactive imagination.
He wrote: “Many have said I have died. Others claim I have withdrawn from the presidential campaign. Well…Nope.
“This is the reality. I am strong. I am healthy and I am ready to serve Nigeria from day one.”
Tinubu’s health has been a major concern for Nigerians and his whereabouts in the past few days had also generated heavy criticism.
The APC candidate had been absent at three key events leading to the 2023 presidential, most especially at the signing of the peace accord between candidates taking part in the election, held in Abuja, on Thursday.
At least fifteen presidential candidates jostling for the 2023 presidential race attended the peace accord but Mr Tinubu was represented by his running-mate, Kashim Shettima, and this has further raised questions about his preparedness to govern the country.
The former Lagos governor had been in the United Kingdom where he is believed to be receiving treatment.
